I wanted to talk about marketing for a second, and not marketing games but marketing yourself. When I was first getting into college I had figured that all a degree was for was to help market yourself for a potential job. I realize now it's kind of a load. I think that people are so stuck trying to make themselves seem better to others that they forget who they really need to market for... themselves!
I no longer am trying to get a degree in video games so I can join in the game industry,
It amazes me, but games like Myst and Sim City continue to have a major impact on the way I look at game design lately. As the summer approaches and I am forced to learn from mistakes made through the semester, I find myself thinking about said games quite a bit. Games nowadays just don't cut it for me anymore. What is it about Sim City and Myst that I love so much? Both games were obviously genius but there is something particularly special about these two. I played them at a young age and appreciated
Today I have realized there is a serious issue with my stomach and milk. They do not mix. I'm guessing I'm lactose intolerant since I recently discovered most people in my family are. Pretty gassy stuff.
In gaming, I've been doing a lot of Team Fortress 2, Day of Defeat Source, and FF11 as of lately but really haven't been putting much time into FF13 and the God of War trilogy. I think one of the issues with being busy is that you really don;t have the time to dedicate yourself to "hardcore"
I flat out love this game. Originally I wasn't too into the story but as I go I am starting to see some depth and the characters emotions are rubbing off a bit. Graphics are gorgeous, but some textures in the real-time cut scenes look balls awful... I guess you can't win them all.
just doing this to test the functionality. Slick!
